ECD Learnership (12-Month Contract)

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young children? The ECD (Early Childhood Development) Learnership program offers an exciting opportunity to gain valuable work-based experience while obtaining an NQF-registered qualification. This 12-month program is available across all provinces and is managed by SETAs (Sector Education and Training Authorities).
Requirements
To qualify for the ECD Learnership, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Citizenship: South African citizen with a valid ID.
- Age: Between 16 and 35 years.
- Education: Completed school, college, or other formal training, with a National Senior Certificate (Matric) or National Certificate (Vocational).
- Skills: Specific skills such as computer literacy may be required.
- Learnership Agreement: Must agree to a contract outlining the rights and responsibilities of the learner, employer, and education provider.
- Employment Contract: Valid only for the duration of the learnership.
Duties
Participants in the ECD Learnership program will engage in various tasks designed to support the development and education of young children. These include:
- Planning and Preparing: Organizing and preparing for the delivery of ECD services.
- Facilitating and Monitoring: Conducting activities to facilitate learning and monitor children’s progress.
- Providing Care: Offering care and emotional support to children to foster their holistic development.
- Assessing Learning Outcomes: Planning and implementing assessments to evaluate children’s learning achievements.
- Promoting Safety: Ensuring the safety and healthy development of children in the learning environment.
- Working with Others: Collaborating with colleagues, families, and community systems to enhance support for children.
- Managing Learning Programs: Designing, organizing, and maintaining structured and effective learning programs.
