A National Youth Service Programme
Are you passionate about arts, culture, and community development? The Young Creatives Programme is calling on dynamic and talented young individuals to be part of a national initiative that fosters artistic expression, cultural activities, and youth empowerment. If you are ready to make an impact, this opportunity is for you!
Programme Functions
Successful applicants will be responsible for:
- Implementing arts and cultural activities in Community Arts Centres and schools.
- Mobilising schools and youth groups to participate in The Young Creatives Programme and other community activities.
- Coordinating, supporting, and facilitating Young Creatives Programme events in the community.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with local organisations, youth groups, and community leaders.
- Monitoring and assessing the implementation of The Young Creatives Programme in schools and Community Arts Centres.
- Committing to personal development and professional growth through active participation in the programme.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Possess a Grade 12 Certificate (a tertiary qualification is an added advantage).
- Be between the ages of 18 and 35.
- Be from the creative and cultural sector.
- Demonstrate facilitation and presentation skills.
- Be proficient in English and a local language.
- Have strong communication skills and a background in youth development.
- Exhibit initiative, proactiveness, and attention to detail.
- Serve as a role model for youth in the community.
Programme Benefits
- Gain hands-on experience in arts and cultural programme implementation.
- Work with like-minded creatives and contribute to community development.
- Receive a monthly stipend of R4,000.
