Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Registration with South African Council for Social Service Professions. Proof of current registration with SACSSP to be attached to CV. Applicant must be in possession of South African valid driver’s license. Knowledge and understanding of children’s Act 38 of 2005, Domestic Violence Act 116 of 1998, Older Person’s Act 13 of 2006, legal and ethical prescripts, Social systems and skills to ensure that one is able to intervene efficiently and effectively where people interact with their environments in order to promote social and mental well-being. Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary context. Analytical thinking, independent decision making and problem solving skills. Knowledge of Mental Health Act 17 of 2002 will be added an advantage.
Duties :
- To render social work services to patients, Families and the community at large. Conduct home visits, placement, and facilitation of children in need of care and protection, working with destitute and Terminally ill patients. Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team by attending wards rounds and team meetings to give advice in matters relating to Social Issues. Administrative tasks including compiling statistics, report writing and record keeping. Participate and assist with the conducting of regular audits of social work staff. Participate in the Continuous Professional Development activities and ensuring compliance on Ideal Hospital Framework and management of complaints and PSI. Effective communication skills. Ability to prepare presentations and do presentations.
