Requirements

A Senior Certificate or Grade 12 certificate. Knowledge of the PERSAL system, database and spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of the Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations and other relevant HR prescripts will be an advantage rather than a requirement. Good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

There is no minimum years-of-experience requirement stated for this post, which makes it realistic for recent matriculants and people moving into administration for the first time.

Duties

Rendering human resource clerical services, and providing administrative support for recruitment and selection, appointments, probation and service terminations. Administering processes related to conditions of service such as leave, housing, medical aid and allowances. Addressing enquiries and HR registry services, capturing and updating transactions on the PERSAL system, and handling HR administration enquiries from internal and external stakeholders. The role also covers maintaining personnel filing systems, both electronic and physical, and drafting routine correspondence, submissions and reports.

Requirements

Duties

Providing professional advice to line managers, and ensuring effective interpretation and implementation of departmental HRM policies, systems, regulation guidelines and prescripts. Capturing transactions on PERSAL across recruitment and selection, organisational development, employee relations and human resource development, and drafting submissions.
